New York, NY (November 12, 2025) – EFA Partners, a financial advisory firm that arranges capital and provides strategic consulting services for entertainment, media, and technology companies, announced that it served as the exclusive sell-side advisor for Stone Theatres, an operator of movie theaters in the Carolinas, for the sale of the company’s Sun Valley 14 and Grand 14 to Georgia Theatre Company, one of the top 20 largest film exhibitors in North America.
Founded in 2008 by Herman Stone and now operated by Herman and Justin Stone, Vice President, Stone Theatres operates theaters across the Carolinas. The Sun Valley 14, opened in 2012, is located in Indian Trail, North Carolina, a suburb of Charlotte. It features 14 stadium auditoriums, rocker seating, and a PDX premium large format auditorium. The Grand 14, opened in 2008, is located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and is situated in the Market Common, a premier life-style center. It features 14 stadium auditoriums and rocker seating. Both theaters offer traditional concessions plus beer and wine.
“We’ve worked with Herman and Justin and the Stone team for many years,” said Brandt Gully, Managing Partner and founding principal of EFA Partners. “They have built a wonderful reputation in the industry, and we look forward to continuing the relationship as they focus on their remaining locations."
EFA’s principals have over 70 years of collective experience in providing financing solutions for entertainment, media, and technology companies. They have deep relationships across their targeted industries and with providers of capital for those industries. The EFA team prides itself on handling its clients’ processes from start to finish. For Stone Theatres, the EFA team garnered interest from a targeted list of prospective acquirers, completed comprehensive materials to highlight the attractiveness of the theaters and their markets, created and maintained data rooms for due diligence, and assisted in the negotiations with interested groups.
“Brandt and the EFA team have extensive relationships throughout our industry,” said Justin Stone, Vice President of Stone Theatres. “Their industry contacts and experience running sell-side assignments allowed them to handle our entire process. This led to the sale to Georgia Theatre Company, and we’re confident they will be excellent operators for the Indian Trail and Myrtle Beach communities.”
