EFA Partners Advises Giant Interactive for Sale of Company to Testronic Inc.

August 17, 2022

New York, NY (August 17, 2022) – EFA Partners, a financial advisory firm that provides investment banking and strategic consulting services for companies in the entertainment and media sectors, today announced that it was the sell-side advisor for Giant Interactive, a digital services company with offices in New York and Los Angeles, as it sold its business to Testronic Inc., a global quality control and localization company that provides services to publishers and developers around the world.

Founded by Jeff Stabenau in 2005 as a DVD authoring house, Giant Interactive has since evolved into a digital services company focused on technology and emerging formats to meet the demand for consumer content consumption and distribution. Giant’s menu of services includes digital video packaging and delivery, master quality control, OTT streaming content management, and DVD, Blu-ray Disc and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc authoring. Giant has created a number of custom OTT projects, including the Oscar online screener site for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Giant Pictures, the company’s independent film distribution arm, will continue to operate as a separate stand-alone business and is not a part of the Testronic transaction.

“It has been a pleasure working with Jeff and his team through the sale process,” said Kenny Favre, Managing Partner and founding principal of EFA Partners. “The Testronic acquisition will accelerate Giant’s continued growth by allowing it to provide global content delivery services to existing and new clients as the company expands its footprint into the European and Latin American markets."

EFA’s principals have over 70 years of collective experience advising and arranging financial solutions to entertainment and media companies. This experience has led EFA to having deep relationships with the senior executive teams at numerous  entertainment and media companies as well as private equity firms with investments in those industries. In addition, they have relationships with many providers of capital including banks, equipment lessors, construction lenders, specialty finance groups, and REITs. The team prides itself on handling its clients’ financing processes from start to finish. For Giant Interactive, EFA reviewed and provided comments to closing documentation and participated in all phases of negotiations through to closing providing financial advisory guidance and recommendations.

“It was great working with Kenny and the EFA team as we went through the sale process,” said Jeff Stabenau, founder and President of Giant Interactive. “Kenny not only has extensive experience on the financial side of the business but he also has a background in the media services industry which allowed him to quickly gain an understanding of our business and assist with our process.”
