EFA Partners Arranges Sale of Movies at Berry Square for Village Theatres

October 21, 2021

Atlanta, GA (October 21, 2021) – EFA Partners, a financial advisory firm that provides investment banking and strategic consulting services for companies in the entertainment sectors, today announced that it was the exclusive sell-side advisor for Village Theatres and arranged the sale of the nine-screen Movies at Berry Square theater located in Rome, Georgia, about an hour northwest of Atlanta. The theater was acquired by Georgia Theatre Company, which is based in St. Simons Island and operates 25 theaters with over 260 auditoriums.

“I am very happy for the team at Village Theatres,” said Brandt Gully, Managing Partner and founding principal of EFA Partners. “After a successful career entertaining the Rome community with their theaters, they were able to survive the pandemic and leave their customers in good hands with the new ownership. Georgia Theatre Company has exciting plans for the Movies at Berry Square."

EFA’s principals have over 70 years of collective experience in providing financing solutions for film exhibitors and companies in many entertainment sectors. This experience has led to them having deep relationships with the senior executive teams at numerous entertainment companies. The team prides itself on handling its clients’ financing processes from start to finish. For Village Theatres, EFA approached a targeted list of prospective buyers, completed comprehensive materials to highlight the attractiveness of the Movies at Berry Square and the Rome market, and participated in all phases of negotiations for closing the sale.

“It has been a pleasure working with Brandt and the EFA team through this process,” said Jennifer Gonzalez of Village Theatres. “We started working with them prior to the pandemic but needed to put our sale process on hold until the industry bounced back. Brandt stuck with us during that time and was able to lead us through a successful sale. We’re confident that Georgia Theatre Company will be an excellent operator of the theater, and they will be a great addition to the Rome community.”
